Do any of you know how good this is? I have got a very good price on it and am thinking of going for some.

Basically my parents were needing some vintage fizz for a do they are having. My supplier faffed around too much with Pol 1996 that I have run out of time and need to source in the UK.

I have had the NV Paillard in the past and seem to remember liking it. Juhlin is a bi mixed in his thoughts of the 1995 vintage.

Hi Charles

Bruno Paillard produces very good vinatge Champagne and 1996 was a fantastic year for Champagne. So mixing the two, you're probablly onto a winner.

Two other thoughts on the 1995:

Wine International - Bruno Paillard 1995 Rating: 92

‘Some nutty overtones on nose and palate with quite tight-knit fruit – should develop well.’ RG
‘Intense lemony-liquorice fruit and great acidity. Nice bottle age but years of life to go.’ TS

Wine International - Bruno Paillard Brut 1995 Review (January 2002)

and

Decanter - Bruno Paillard 1995 Rating: 3/5

Quite good, high Chardonnay style. Rather sweet but good fruit acid.

Decanter - Bruno Paillard Brut 1995 Review (Unknown date)

Hopefully the 1996 would be much better being a generally better year.

Unfortuately I've not tried it myself so I can't confrim that from personal experience.

If you were buying in France it seems to go for around €35 - €39 a bottle
In UK I've seen a case of 6 for £208.22 (including vat) so £34.60 a bottle

Hope this help some. If you decide to buy some and try it, do tell us what you thought of it.

Cheers

Jeremy,

That's how I'm working as well. Seems no-one has had it!!

Fortunately I get on well with the agent and can buy it a lot cheaper than that.
