More and more wines are being produced with synthetic corks and screw tops to prevent the wine being corked or damaged by the cork.

However my question is will this prevent the normal aging process?

Should such a wine be drunk young?

Will it age slower or last longer?

This is quite an interesting subject. From my own experience I have actually only drunk synthetically corked wine when it has been young, not really thinking how aging would affect it. I will endeavor to test it and report back on my blog
