Wine coolers - necessary or not?

I have about 100 bottles of mainly reds stored in my hall. They are properly racked, near the floor and not in direct sunlight. Day to day temperature fluctuations can be 66-72F (19-22C) in the summer and 63-70F (17-21C) in the winter. Should I invest in a Wine Cooler (55F/13C all year)?

I believe the important thing about storage of wine is that the temperature is kept as constant as possible. So as you suggest investment in a wine cooler might be the way to go. However always remember before serving there are certain reds that benefit from some refrigeration as room temperature does not suit them all. Check out my blog at

you should have a refrigerator for different temperatures and storage.
